Inspire & Be Inspired: 6 Easy Ways to Spark Inspiration

Wedding Inspiration
April 28, 2020

Inspiration is like hope. It’s that feeling we get in our chests that fills us with passion and drive. It can carry us through the darkest of times. We can hold on to it, grow it, and watch as it lights our path. Times are uncertain, especially for us in the business of large group celebrations. You may be feeling down or stressed and that's completely valid. Embrace your feelings, some days may be harder than others, and when you’re ready you can find that this time may actually be a gift to you and your business. Inspiration has the power to transform even the most unlikely situations. You have more time on your hands making this a perfect time to nurture your creativity and widen your perspective beyond what you could've ever imagined before.

Inspiration is everywhere, even in your home. We can all use some inspiration right now and we can all use each other. Let’s get inspired! Here are six simple ways to spark inspo today:

1. Slow Down

As a wedding entrepreneur, you run off of creating and finding new ways to innovate, but often times your schedule is so jam packed that you don’t really have time to stop and slow down. It’s in these moments when we're forced to step back and consider what’s important. You now have time to reflect and connect with yourself and the wedding industry in a way you never have. Find peace in knowing that although times may be tough, and your business may be hurting, that you will come back stronger when this is all over.

2. Find Yourself & Take Care of Yourself

Sleep. Get lots of it! Take care of your body. Eat well. Exercise. Do what you enjoy. Take a bath. Meditate. Meditation is a wonderful way to clear your mind and relax. Download the Aura app and begin your journey of mindfulness. By taking care of yourself, you'll find that you'll be more at ease and your brain will be sharper. Inspiration will shortly follow.

3. Research

Do some research and read about the latest wedding trends. Learning about what others are doing will get your wheels turning. Scroll through social media. Read about best practices. Browse the Aisle Planner Pro Blog for some new inspiration or ways that you can organize and enhance your business during this halt. Just because weddings aren’t being held doesn’t mean you can’t find inspiration that'll help you when things are back in full swing. You can begin to plan for ways that your business can adhere to CDC guidelines when things begin to transition back.

4. Write Everything

The good, the bad, and everything in between. Write down every idea you have for your business. Writing it down is a part of the process. Bad ideas are what help good ideas develop. Don’t aim for perfection or be hard on yourself. The best ideas come from free thinking. This is where inspiration is born! Maybe you’ve been considering trying a new practice or process, now you can brainstorm and fully flesh it out.

5. Find New Scenery

There’re only so many places you can go in your own home. From your home office to the living room and the fridge, the inspiration you may be used to getting may not be as easy to channel behind closed doors. So, go sit outside, go for a walk, or you can travel somewhere else from the inside of your home. Take virtual tours! With the internet you can travel to Paris and have a completely new location as your background for inspiration.

6. Connect With Others

We get most of our inspiration from others with similar passions and goals. You may not be able to see other wedding pros in person, but this doesn’t stop you from strengthening your current connections or making new ones. It’s easier than ever to connect through technology. FaceTime, Google Hangouts, Skype, Zoom, there’s so many avenues to connect. Attend virtual wedding conferences and meetings. Reach out to other wedding pros and vendors. Check in and see what steps they’re actively taking during the Pandemic and collaborate and how to make the best out of this time. Together, we can inspire each other and get through this.
